The Accountant II-Grants will provide post-award grant accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of federal, state and municipal grants and/or contracts of the organization in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the 2 CFR Part 200 Uniform Guidance. The Accountant II-Grants will report to the Accounting Manager


Essential job functions:


1.     Prepare monthly bills and financial reports, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with agreement terms.

2.     Interpret provisions in grant/contract documents relating to payment terms, billing, limitation on cost, and requirements for budget modifications and extensions.

3.     Determine the correct allocation of expenses to funding sources, maintain documentation of decisions and grant policies, and prepare allocation input.

4.     Perform monthly and annual reconciliations of revenue, cash receipts, and other project activity against the general ledger and project ledgers.

5.     Work closely with program staff to monitor spending, compliance, and the need for budget modifications and/or extensions.

6.     Interact with project teams, senior management, and funding agencies to resolve financial and billing issues.

7.     Prepare materials and participate in meetings to effectively manage financial issues periodically throughout the term of the grants.

8.     Provide input for grant budgets and budget modifications for submission to funders.

9.     Oversees timely and accurate general ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP and EDEN's policies, including.

a)     Monthly internal financial statement procedures

b)    EDEN's Cost Allocation Policy

c)     Grantor financial reporting procedures

10.  Coordinate the sharing of financial information to grantor agencies during on-site or desk audits of grants and assists the Controller in the preparation of audit work papers requested during the Organizations external annual audit.




A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relate field required; and five years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry preferred.
